Homemade Lemonade GGMS {thm - fp}

This morning I made this delicious lemonade recipe!  It's nothing fancy, but it sure is tasty - and will be even better on a hot summer day!  Here are the instructions...

*Put 2 cups water in your blender and add 2 whole lemons (just peel the outer yellow off, but leave as much of the white as possible.)
*Blend until there are no more chunks
*Strain through a mesh strainer or cheesecloth.

*Pour back into blender and add ACV (a few tbsp), sweetener of your choice (I used a Truvia, stevia extract blend), ginger (I used the paste, but later found out there is added sugar in that!!  Will use powdered next time!)
*Blend again
*Taste and adjust flavor to your liking
*Pour into a pitcher and add 4 cups of water and stir.
*Enjoy!
*Thank-You to Trim Healthy Mama for the drink inspiration!

  1. The white of the lemon has great health benefits... also Dr. Oz had a segment on Meyer Lemons and how you can eat the whole thing because of the health benefits of the white it is so good for you. I was planning on getting some to use, this would be great for them! Thanks :)

  3. I made this just now. Thanks so much for the idea, it's tart but quite refreshing. A couple things I tried that really have nothing to do with this awesome recipe:

    I strained it through a nut bag after blending.

    I used a vegetable peeler to remove the rind. Then I put the rind into my food processor and ground it up into lemon zest. I've never done that before, but I tried it and it worked out great. I put the zest into four pockets of an ice cube tray, filled them with water, and stuck the tray into the freezer for some future recipe.

    I actually didn't add the extra water at the end. I just poured it into a quart-size jar full of ice cubes. I really like it this way, but I will try it your way next time to compare. Thanks again! I pinned it last week and finally got to try it.
